  1. Heh, well thanks for the input. The cars been out of comission a while and its been a long time since ive done any research on the topic. Forgot about most of the problems with the EAs. Only issue that I had with doing an EJ swap was all of the aftermarket modding that you have to do with the wiring and drivetrain.
  2. Ok, so I found a post that says its a pretty easy swap. Almost straight bolt it. Any idea if there is a guide for the EA71 to EA82T swap?
  3. Im looking to put an EA82t into my 80gl wagon. I was curious how well it would fit in. If its a direct fit or if it needed any mods.
  4. I have a 1600 gl in my drive way that was planning on just getting rid of but the whole time i wanted to just swap in a EJ20/EJ22 if it was possible. I've read the guide but it seems like its gone and disappeared now. Anyone know how difficult it is to wire this bad boy up? Is it possible to swap in the EJ20 with the tranny and all or do you have to use an old tranny. Has anyone ever though of doing like a small block chevy or small 4 cyl toyota motor?
  5. How hard is it to get my hands on a redrilled flywheel and an adapter plate ya think?

  6. Awesome I have been trying to figure out what those pipes are for. you say that a pipe wrench will work pretty well to get the nuts off pretty well? you dont think a flare wrench will work for it?
  7. I agree. I'm hoping to be able to get this stuff off soon. I'm definitely considering doing a EJ conversion but i need to do some research first. I would love to have the extra power but I'm really new to modifying my car so any tips would be great. Looking to drop an EJ22 into it if i can.
  8. I have been reading around the forums and you seem to be a pretty knowledgable guy for the EJ22's and conversions. My soobie has been broken down for just over a month now and I have been dying to drop a EJ22 in it for the fuel injection and the power. I was curious how much work was involved with that. I really look forward to your response and thanks for that info on getting those pipes off :)

  9. Ahh, okay, sounds good. I need to try applying heat to it then. I soaked it a few times with a penitrating oil. Didn't have much luck with that though. Welding it up would work but would it pass emissions in california? thats the real question lol
  10. So i have a problem with my EA71 block, I need to take off the cylinder heads but there are some aluminum pipes that come off the top of each cylinder and then all meet at a central box. after that box they meet at a blue cylindrical box. I dont know what this is for but I can't get them off. I have tried and all of the wrenches that I use are bending open. A friend suggested cutting them off and reflaring the pipes afterwards. Any information would be great!
