    This may sound stupid, but I just was given a 1990 Legacy with a 2.2 N/A engine and I plan to put it into my '74 VW super beetle- backwards ( I do have a plan for this) but I'm new to Subarus and while the sticker under the hood says "LFJ2.2" I was wondering what engine family this translates to. I see alot of reference to EJ22's and EA82's and such. Also, I have valve noise and a miss in this engine; does this engine have hydraulic lifters or adjustable lifters? I haven't opened the valve cover yet but I susperct valve lifters/adjustment since I can pull the lead spark plug wire on the passenger side with little to no effect. Thanks in advance for your help, everyone. Rob
