    I am in the process of looking for a winter beater. I came across a 2000 Outback. Here is some info. What is the most likely cause of this symptom? Is it common? How is it fixed? 2.5 dohc check engine lamp is on because of a transmission code.....(gear ratio error in 3rd) runs great. this would make a great donor vehicle or fix trans and have a great car! has all the options...leather , heated seats , pw etc. $995
