  1. It came out of another 97 Impreza. I actually was able to get this solved. I swapped out the cam shaft sensor and rechecked every connector and hose. Started up and is now 100% functional. Thank you for the response.
  2. I recently became a first-time Subaru owner. The day I drive it home a rod when through the engine. I bought another engine, and just swapped them today. At first start the engine ran fine, idled, etc...no CEL. I drove the car slightly forward and back, all was fine. The car then died. I restarted and let it idle, to the point that oil on the exhaust was starting to burn off, but there was a CEL on. After a few minutes I went to rev the engine and it died instantly. Since then, the engine will not restart. I checked fuel pressure after the fuel filter and it's fine, there is fuel pressure going to the injectors as well. If I pour a small amount of fuel into the throttle body the car will run fine, until obviously there is no more fuel left. Is this a problem with the computer not activated injectors? Or is this a timing issue? Thanks for your help.
  3. What's the update here? I have to say...I would really like to know, since I have the same problem right now. However, when I pour a very small amount of fuel into the throttle body it will run...seemingly fine.
