Is this true that the Phase 2 Imprezas came out in 1997 and NOT in 1999? I am getting very conflicting reports and I just don't know which is right. I need to know because I am about to drive 150 miles to pick up an automatic transmission from a 97 Impreza 2.2 outback to replace the transmission in my 1995 Impreza 2.2 wagon. I am concerned about the electronics not being compatible between the phase 1 and phase 2. So I need to know if the 1997 was infact a phase 2. Wikipedia: ^^ Wiki seems to be implying that the 1997 had changes made, but that the Phase 2 came out in 1999. I really would like to clear this up once and for all, there is too much misinformation out there!
