Great forum everyone, lots of useful information. My '99 Legacy with a 2.2 is likely going to need an engine in the not too distant future. The only information that I have found so far is that only a '99Legacy 2.2 engine will swap in to this car. This makes for a small number of low mileage engines available and makes them rather expensive. I was wondering if it is possible to swap in a '99 or newer 2.5 as these seem to be much more plentiful and a little less expensive. I would imagine that the computer and maybe some or all of the engine harness would have to be included in such a swap, but would like to know if anyone has had any experience with such a swap.
