-> Hi again! I was wondering if its possible to to do an RWD or AWD-powered STi GL Wagon?
- How difficult would it be?
- How costly would it be?
- EJ20 vs EJ25 into my EA82 wagon?
- Should I use RX or XT axles or use an EJ-compatible axles (ie. Impreza/Legacy/Forester)?
- How is it compared with stock drivetrain (AWD) compared to RWD?
^ Just like that drift Leone in Europe, I would like to turn my wagon into an anti-AE86/SR20 or an anti-Evo/WRX. Since my wagon is being hated all over the city, I want to return their hatred back to them.

This has been covered monthly for years. Any DIN deck with the adaptor kit availible at any stereo shop - or you can make your own.
GD
^ Apologies for creating a new thread. So it will work with any regular 1 DIN deck? Because I saw some pics here in USMB that the stereos are sticking out like a swollen banana.
or if you are crafty and don't care about having a cd player... I am all mp3 now!=Pic=
^ Thats a pretty flushed set up! Nice!
-
-> This can be a helpful thread for people who wants to replace the stock stereo on their EA81 or EA82. I've tried the search button before posting this thread.
-> Long time no see guys! I have a question on which aftermarket or factory stereo that is compatible for the EA82. I'm aware the EA82 has a weird fitment for the head unit. So now I'm tired of my stock system with no CD/Cassette player.
^ I will update the thread on any compatible factory or aftermarket recommended by USMB. (potential to be stickied)

-> Wecome to the Forums! I'm from Vegas too!
-
-> Hey welcome to the forums! I have a EA82 Touring, and yea I'm not a frequest Flat-4 member (because all they talk about is all modern Subies). And yea I'm a Vegas dude too!
-
-> Hello its me with a new EA82 question again.
-> This time, its an A/C question.
-> Its there anyway I can install a R134a A/C kit on my EA82 that doesn't come w/ an A/C system from the factory (R12)?
-> So far on LV craigslist, there is a '92 Legacy for $1,450. And at the same time, theres a guy who is willing to buy my wagon for $1,200.
-> What should I do!? Should I look for an A/C kit for my EA82 or should I replace my lovable wagon?
-
-> Is this the one?
^ If it is; yup, you have a Touring wagon. Welcome to the few, the proud...you get the idea.
-
-> ...
Oh they sell Duct Tape.Btw... you ever figure out that CV guy in Colorado? May have to stock up.
^ What CV guy? Please refreshen me, I have a TONS of thing on my mind.
BT-> Took more pics of GLadys:
Trip to UT
^ Not much happend, just testing its 'mud' and D/R 4WD capabilities.
Top of a hill in east Vegas
At a different location
At Mt. Charleston Ski Resort on the same night
...more to come.

^ Where should I get them? Will it so with the wheel bearings?
-> I bought all the parts that I could get with a very limited amount of time. Will post pics later on.
-
-> Hmm...this really gets me thinking hard. The only primal reason for me to replace the dash just really because that the dash is dusty beyond comprehension! Looks like removing a complete dashboard is a daunting task for me (and Marc) to undertake.
-> I can do an alternative and maybe use a matching gray-colored spray or look for a mint gray interior...I'll just get the instrument panel and whatever I can get my hand to on my last trip to "Blue" (the parts car).
-> Many thanks for the tips!!!!
-
-> Hi, its me again. I have a noob question again. I tried the search feature and nothing came out.
-> I just bought a '92 Loyale 'parts car' for $150, but the interior is blue. but I'll go unique style so I'm going to convert my interior from 'AZ gray sandstrom coat' to 'CA blue clean coat' (yeah, my gray interior is THAT dirty, might sell it one day, and yeah I made up those names ).
-> My question is is how to remove/install a dashboard. The guy who provides the parts (more EA82 parts still available ph#702-591-2883 look for Marc) doesn't know how to remove it. So I need help again, I need it off by this week. Many thanks guys!

My estimate cost for you to fix less then 300 bucks. Thats if you wanted the new fender.^ I'm not looking for a totally new one, I can just look around for a part-out sale (208subaruguy), a wagon shell (artistic_gore), or a cheap wagon (any ebay/craigslist).
This is the perfect opportunity to get rid of that bumper and put on a custom off-road bumper.^ Nah...I'm planing on a full-on resto-mod; clean-shell/interior and if my EA82 gives up...either EJ22, EJ205/EJ207, or EJ25 STi swap in the future. I want to make it a semi-show car daily driver:)
-
-> I'd rather keep this situation separate from my other GLadys thread due to its depressing nature. So please forgive me.
-> Like any person who does everyday, we all go to work to do the daily dance. But this happend:
^ What happend was, I was at the far right-lane and the traffic was slow. The light went green, mine wasn't moving due to crosswalk guards (since the intersection is surrounded by schools, but I wasn't in the school zone), the road has 3 lanes going straight and two going left. I saw the middle-lane clear, so I switch my left signal ON, yielded on my left cautiously. While 70% of my car was inside on the middle-lane...AND POW!!!!!
-> This Sentra swiped my car like a guardrail as this person had a greater impact speed compared to my car (20 mph [sentra] vs. 3 mph [GLadys]). That car didn't stop until in the first-half of the intersection, note that the impact happened 2-4 car lengths before the intersection.
-> According to Las Vegas Metro officer, since there were no witness willing to testify; the incident is a 50/50 ordeal because both of us were trying to merge in the same lane.
-> I also called my insurance and they said pretty much the same thing...
-> The location of the accident, it was too busy when when we hit each other so we had to park.
-> The officer who dealt the situation:
-> Here was the outcome, we both got cited thou. But here was a weigh in between us:
Me & GLadys:
- Cited for not having a NV licence plates, the officer got weirded out when my Arizona registration card came with a Nevada address. According to my ticket its a $200 fine, unless if I register it right away.
The Sentra Girl
- Cited for driving without proof of insurance.
- Licence plates got confiscated.
- Girl walked home.
-> If anyone can suggest on which part should I need to replace the damages. I'm still waiting for a reply from artistic_gore about getting the Loyale shell.
-
-> Installed new 'joints few weeks ago, remember the Help! live thread in the other forum here in USMB...this was it!
-> At the undergound import meet last thursday:
-> Just random shots on "Gladys"
-> New tires, Pirelli Cinturato P5:
-> With my other baby, "Silvie":
-> Maybe one day, we'll just be coming here just to buy some Subie parts
^ If we can only hope...

Hey Vanishing,Making the picture darker does not qualify as freshening up the car. If it does, then tweak the lighting a little brighter and it'll be perfect.
^ When I took the dusty pic, it was 10.30 in the morning in a farm at AZ. While the clean pic, was taken at 10.30 at night at the car wash here in Vegas. Does that answer your question regarding lighting issues?

-> *At the chatroom now*

-> It looks like the bolts connecting between the hub an rotor are not aligned at all!!! Plus, I don't have an impact wrench, But I have this:
-> Now my camera is out of juice...

BT-> If nothing goes on tonight, I'll just give up and continue it next time. And my co-worker just got sick, so I'm tackling this job alone. A newb doing a job like this...poor me!!!

^ I'm dealing this problem for the past hour and a half! Please help! Thanks!!!!

-> Hi, its me again. I have an '89 GL Touring 4WD (non-turbo).
-> As I sucessfully installed the CV/half-drive and the steering tie rod end. I'm putting the car together as we speak, and now I'm about to re-install the hub to the base rotor on the left side.
-> Right now I need immediate answers, this thread is in live mode and I will refresh the page every 30sec-2min. Thank you!
-> These shot were taken 4 mins ago:
^ Thanks a lot!!!
-
-> Right now, I just installed the new CV/halfdrive on the left side. Now I'm installing the streering tie-rod and later (hopefully) the spark plugs/wires, fuel filter, and air filter.
-
^ The thing was last Saturday, we were expecting an easy remove-replace-install job (for the front CV/half-drive, fuel filter, spark plug/wires, & air filter). The mistake was, we were overwhelmed and we underestimated the job itself. Because half of the cars life (10 years) was on the ranch, so most of its suspension components are either seized, worned, or disintegrated. Plus the part store gave us the wrong CV/half-drive for the other side of the axle.
-> We will finish the job by today, with or without the sway bushings (which will arrive on Friday).
-
-> ...
my earlier head bashing was over the roundy roundy vocab test, nothing you saidis it the right number for the round bushing at the end of the sway bar?
let me know if it is the right part, mine are fried
^ Yes it is by the end of the sway/stabilizer bar.
-> And I will keep you up on the updates this weekend.
Vanishing Boy, I'm sorry for snapping at you like that. I guess if I had taken a little more time to look at your post count, I would've noticed that you are new to this. I am glad to hear that you got the parts that you need. I guess one thing you might possibly want to include in a post, is that if you have never undertaken a certain project that you may be posting about before, just put in there that you haven't ever done that before. It will keep people like myself, from jumping to conclusions and use a little more patience and understanding when replying. So again, I'm very sorry for griping at you in such a harsh manner.- Patrick
^ I do appreciate your concern. As you can see my post history, most of the threads that I created was based mostly by questions on how to do this and that.
One more thing vanishing. Until you become a known member you need to put what type of car you have. I know you did in a latter post but there are so many (older) subarus that you need to be specific. My car is a 88 subaru DL which has a single range only. Things like that people will pick up on quickly.^ I've already introduced myself properly here. Sorry that I overlooked that part. I was depressed and agitated that we didn't finish the wagon that night.
The endlink bushings are not affected by the sway bar diameter. So the diameter of the shaft has no bearing on the swaybar links. You were asking about replacing the links, so the whole part about the bar size was irrelevant.If you're replacing the swaybar to crossmember bushings, then it does matter. Easiest way to find out is by measureing, because any swaybar could have been swapped onto any car at any point...
^ I was looking on that part the entire time. My friend will double measure it before I coming inI'm about. And I thank Subaru LV & Subaru OEM for being so supportive on my wagon.
-
-> This getting crazy, but I'm glad its over!
-> Anyhow, I already placed an order for the part at Subaru of Las Vegas. I'm thanking ruparts for the part number, Subaru of Las Vegas & Subaru OEM Headquarters for specifying the specific part. Also at the same time, I've placed an order for the oil pan gasket just in case in the near future at Subaru OEM.
-> So according to Subaru of Las Vegas, here's what the say:
16mm = All DL/GL FWD/4WD non-turbo
18mm = GL-10 & Turbo? FWD/4WD
19mm = ??????
-> Many thanks for the help!

-> So pretty much its more affordable to get a AE86 (old Corolla GT-S) then?
