I bought the car not running for 250 bucks. I got it running ( the guy wired the fuel pump backwards) after i got it running thats when i noticed the pan.

I cant find my old thread. My 97 impreza 2.2l auto trans. The transmission wants to go forward in every gear including nuetral and park. I tried driving it and it will not shift its as if it only has one forward gear. In park it only revs to about 2000 rpm and then it grinds. I looked at the trans pan and its a little dented. The fluid looks good. With the engine off nuetral is there. This problem has me stumped. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance. If the trans is bad will the 4EAT out of my 96 legacy outback work in this car?

I come to you guys for more help. I picked up a 97 impreza 2.2 and 4EAT. Well I bought the car not running. Igot it running and went to drive it around the block I get home and go to park it and it seems it doesnt have reverse. I went through the gears and in 1 nothing no movement but the rest of the forward drive gears work. Neutral it creeps forward and in reverse it feels like it wants to but its like something is binding. In park i revved it up and at about 2200 it started grinding so i shut it off. The fluid level is good and the fluid is clean. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

no just the horn stoplights and vents with the abs light on. it has done this a couple times before but it just goes away on its own, and now its been like this for a week.

ive got a 96 outback. i replaced my pass. front spindle due to it being cracked. i now have an ABS light on and no stop lights. i replaced the ABS sens. with a known good part still nothing. i have no power to the stoplight horn fuse or the ABS fuse. the weird thing is my vents are not blowing air eirther. The a/c comp kicks on but no airflow. im stumped any help would be great. thanks in advance.

the car is a 96 legacy outback. it has 205000 miles on it. my father in law gave it to me when he got a new car, he kept up on all the maint. and took very good care of the car.

i have a couple of questions yesterday i was driving to work my abs light came on and my heater quit blowing how would those be related. i killed the car and started it back up and the heater started blowing again but the abs light was still on. my next question is my revese lights do not work ive checked bulbs relays and fuses. the only thing i havent done is chased down the wires. any help would be great thanks in advance. david

i cant believe its taken me this long to register here. so im kinda new to subies. i have 2 subarus, i have a 96 legacy outback, and a 95 impreza. both of which i got for free. the leggy my father in law gave me and the impreza i got off the local suby forum. so any advise and help you guys can give me on my path to rebuilding my subies would be great. thanks david. here are the pics. heres my outback and the project impreza
