  1. i sure the comp ratio will increase, and i am from brazil, its impossible to buy an block, tks but i will resleave the block with EJ22 sleeves, why this will not be possible? tks
  2. Hello guys, i have with me one set of EJ22 pistons and rings STD Brand New, and i want to know, if its possible to use the EJ18 block with the EJ22 Pistons, just resleeving with new size? , this combination will be perfect if its possible because i can use our national fuel (etanol) with the hight compression ratio that will result for this change, so, with new sleeves , will be possible use the EJ22 pistons on my EJ18 block? , tks
  3. ty vry much for ur help man, do u have any manual of any EJ18 SOHC engine? , i have many subarus Workshops Manuals but none is of the EJ18 , ty again...
  4. ty vry much for the help, do u have the specs of the springs? , ty for help...
  5. Hello, i rly need to know if the EJ18(SOHC) Valve springs are the same of the EJ20(SOHC) , and is someone have the EJ18 Manual to know how much lbs the EJ18 Valve springs hold, because i have an Impreza 1.8 16v Base model 4x4 with 100k miles and i need to know if i will have to change the valve springs, ty everyone for the attention and sry for my bad english...
  6. i think i will simply rebuild my EJ18 engine and later put a turbo on it, ty for the infos...
  7. i am thinking on getting the EJ20T forjed short block and putting all other pieces of my EJ18 like Headers, air intake , ECU, transmission, etc..., do u think my original EJ18 ECU can manage that change, and the transmission its plug and play? tks
  8. the only problem of installing turbo is that in Brazil the law doesnt allow it, i am thinking on getting the EJ20T forjed short block and putting all other pieces of my EJ18 Headers, air intake , ECU, etc..., do u think my original EJ18 ECU can manage that change? , tks Its to hard to find a complete EJ22 here, i thinking to get a EJ20T forjed short block that are selling here in Brazil, do u think the original ej18 ECU will handle that system? tks
  9. its not pointless, 1800cc its less than 2.000cc , with this simple "change" my car will gain some close to 15hp , i will have more compression ratio to use Etanol, so with the 200cc more and the 1~1,5 more of compression ratio (because i will keep the stock ej18 headers) , i wiil have an motor from 105 hp stock to 125~130 hp with etanol.
  10. yep, but here in brazil its to expensive to get an EJ20 Shortblock, and its much more cheaper to bore the EJ18, i will take some like 10,5:1 of compression with the EJ20 pistons and the EJ18 headers , i will look for the sleeves here in Brazil, tks for helping. hummmm, so the EJ18 sleeves can hold the EJ20 pistons ? the car will stay original i am not thinking to put an turbo in it...ty for help
  11. Hello again, i have troubles with my GC6 and i have to change the pistons and the rods of the EJ18, so i bought the EJ20 pistons and rods to install on the OEM EJ18E block, can i bore the EJ18 to 92mm? i need to know if this will be possible, and if i have to change the sleeves of the cilinder to, ty for attention and sry for my bad english.
  12. its not impossible, but not easy to find ej22 in brazil, the only easy and cheap way to the EJ22 piston fits on EJ18 block its to "open" the EJ18 bore from 87mm to 92mm? , tks vry much to being pattient...
