cold air intake
Ive been looking for a cold air intake for my 97 legacy Outback 2.5L and I can't seem to find any specifically for that year or a year right around it. So I was wondering if anyone know where I could find one or if one from a different range of models would still work for my car. I do currently have a k&n filter in the stock air box but I still get the oh so wonderfully chirping noise when I get around 2 1/2 - 3 Rpms on acceleration and the stock box needs to be replaced anyways.

Hit Brakes and Head Lights Go Out

Yeah Ive read the king springs add around 2-3" and if I wanted more I could go with Forester struts for like an inch more. Those couple extra inches can do wonders . Anyways thanks for the warm welcome!

Headgaskets or new engine
NSubO replied to NSubO's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYeah sounds like keeping the engine will be the way to go the engine only got overheated twice and not for a long time in the course of figuring out it was the head gasket. I did get it looked at by a friend that was a subbie tech and was told I will still most likely need to get some machining done but that the engine should be fine. And other than the head gasket issue there hasn't been a knocking issue with the engine at all. Also just curious would there be much of a difference in performance between the EJ25 and the EJ22?

Headgaskets or new engine
I have a 97 legacy outback with almost a 150k miles and it has came time to do a head gasket replacement. As an alternative I wanted to find out what other Subaru engines will swap into a 97 legacy that are less prone to the head gasket issue that is not the 2.2 L engine

That I have seen been looking into getting a small lift and the king springs seem to be the easiest way to go but that will have to wait due to some nasty head gasket issues that surfaced the other day:-\
