    I just got back from my freinds place...leak check. It was just a leaky external trans filter cartrige gasket. Not engine oil related after all. New filter solved the problem. Thanks again!

    Re 2006 Legacy Outback 2.5L non Turbo Hello, I'm helping a freind out. I can't seem to find a DIY thread. Does the pan just drop out or do I need to lift the motor to pull the pan? Based on what I've read here the job may be a pita? Thanks, Rob
