p0122 code troubles
capndick4 replied to capndick4's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI actually found two of those big connecters, one white and one orange. I was able to clean part of the white one and then I noticed a loose vacuum house. Plugged it up and now I've driven 200+ miles with no problems. Hopefully all will continue to go well. Thank you for the help!

p0122 code troubles
So my struggle continues with my 2001 legacy. I have a 5 speed 2.5L I have replaced the knock sensor, TPS, plugs, wires and fuel filter as well as both o2 sensors. My problem is the car keeps giving me a P0122 code. When it does this the car will jerk and buck as I drive it. The funny thing is that if I pop it out of gear and then rev the motor to over 5500 RPM it will run smooth for a while, aprox 20-100 miles, until it starts doing it again. FYI, when I replaced the o2 sensors I used an OEM one for the upstream but a generic one that I had to wire for the downstream because I was having trouble sourcing an OEM at the time. Also I have read that an EGT probe could cause such problems but I have been unable to find a reference to my car even having one. One person even suggested I may need an ECU or that I could just have some bad wiring. Any suggestions before I throw in the towel and just take it to a shop?

TPS replacement problem
capndick4 replied to capndick4's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXSo I replaced the plugs (NGK platinum) and wires and it's still bucking. I replaced the fuel filter as well. Someone suggested it may be the O2 sensors. Any suggestions?

TPS replacement problem
capndick4 replied to capndick4's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWhen it first started doing it (over a year ago, this has been a long time battle im afraid) I did have the code read. If I remember correctly it was p420 and I was told it was most likely a catalytic converter. However, I did get it smogged a few months later and it wasn't the cat. The shop did replace the pigtail that hooks up to the TPS and it ran fine for a few days before starting the bucking again. I am just getting sick of the bucking and want it fixed once and for all. Replacing plugs and wires is next on my list, hopefully in the next week or two. I have read to only use Subaru made wires because they are made differently than regular spark plug wires. Is this correct?

TPS replacement problem
I am having problems with my 2001 Legacy L (2.5 liter/manual transmisson). It developed a bucking sometimes in the 1500-2500 rpm range and the CEL stayed on. After some research I thought it was the TPS. I tested the old one and it was bad. I took the battery cables off to get the CEL to go off and replaced the TPS. It ran smoothly with the CEL off for about five miles then the CEL came back on, however the car was still running smoothly. Then about 150 miles later the car started bucking again. The bucking happens the majority of the time but not always. Could I possibly need a new computer? Should I just give up and take it to a mechanic?
