  1. I already have 3 handheld GPS units. I do use my Garmin GPS V in the car on road trips, but I really want something that is always there. The Garmin and Magellan car units are possibilities, but I really don't want my car looking like it was Velcro'ed together. FHI is selling Nav systems in Japan, UK, Sweden, Germany, and I am sure other markets. Why aren't we getting it? --Bill
  2. I sent a message to www.oemvalue.com who sells a lot of OEM Nav systems for other makes, especially Toyota. They said they could not get the Subaru one, but that it looked VERY similar to the Toyota Nav unit. It seems they are using the same supplier... --Bill
  3. Wow! Impressive speed on the trash-reply! Personally, I tend to enjoy technology... Is there anyone on this board from a country that has offers these? I would love to hear a first hand report. --Bill
  4. I was cruising around other coutry's Subaru sites and found this on the German site: http://www.subaru.de/showroom/outback/outback-int/outback-int-multidisplay.htm This is a Flash demo of the Nav system. It seems to have the following: Navigation (with simple input over touch screen and clear route guidance) 3 "analog" gagues (battery voltage, momentary gasoline consumption, attitude of the accelerotor pedal) Maitenance schedules Outside temp Clock There were are also three tabs they don't talk about... Anyone want to start a petition to persuade Subaru to get this here in the US (and perhaps Canada and Down Under)? --Bill
  5. This site tells all: http://www.cars101.com/subaru/keyless.html --Bill
  6. According to the Edmunds review [ http://www.edmunds.com/new/2005/subaru/legacy/100396955/roadtestarticle.html?articleId=101838 ], the navigation system will be avalible in 2006. I was put-off by this as well. They offer it in Sweeden and Japan now. Why not here? And, where is the XM radio? The OEM dash unit looks nice, but it does not have a standard DIN hole for a radio, so aftermarket solutions will be messy at best... --Bill
