  1. Hi guys, I recently got my Gen 2 Liberty GX's EJ22 repaired due to a head gasket issue. The heads were machined and the mechanic told me it was definitely a headgasket issue (I'd been using coolant and getting pretty hot.) I have the gaskets, and as far as I can tell there is no evidence of a leak, no burns and no obvious liquid trails. Is this possible? I don't know much about the boxer design, and I'm trying to learn; hence asking this possibly stupid question. Essentially, is it possible to have a head gasket leak, but have no obvious burn marks or liquid damage on the gasket, or have I been dudded? Cheers guys.
