  1. Thanks Loyale, I'll try drilling and tapping for the larger screws on the first plate - I was using the crappy small ones and they did seem a bit loose when I took the adapter off.
  2. I've got a Weber DGV swap with the Redline adapter kit in my 1986 EA82. It's been sucking coolant into the intake tract from the opening just under the carb. Upon further inspection it seems that the adapter only extends about 1/16" past that opening on the intake side, not leaving very much compressed gasket. The coolant just bled right through the paper of the gasket and into the intake. Anybody else had trouble with this before? Any fixes? I ordered a different gasket material and will be making new gaskets to see if that helps.
  3. I've got to drive down to Burlington today and will probably be back up here around 4pm, if you're still around then I could stop by Picked up a rotor at O'Reilley's this morning for all of $5, problem solved.
  4. Took apart the carb, swapped jets, cleaned out bleeds etc. and no change. I did find the problem though, and it had nothing to do with the carb... Noticed that the coil was arcing, went through the ignition system. Turns out my disty was destroying itself from the inside out - the rotor had come mostly loose and started chewing everything up in there. I ghetto-rigged it back together, and everything runs smoothly!! Just gotta find myself a new disty. Now on to that TOD...
  5. I've blown it out with carb cleaner several times now, but may as well try again. The spray pattern definitely doesn't look consistent if you check down the barrel at part throttle, should it be an even spray? It's more like dripping than a mist. Full throttle looks even.
  6. Sucks about split-spokes only being 15's, I probably don't want to go that big. I guess I'll see how the current tires handle snow etc. before making a decision. The deep dish/offset on my 13's is actually pretty cool looking... so if a less aggressive tire works just as well for my use I'll probably end up getting one of the Tire Rack tires Plus, 13's are cheap as hell!
  7. Aaaand it turns out it wasn't the power valve. Still ran like crap, so tried removing valve and plugging its vac hole. Still ran like crap, so it seems that the power valve wasn't at fault. Another interesting tidbit: when I open just the 38mm barrel it revs smoothly. So it has something to do with the 36... Might try changing out the jets in that one, unless there could be a vac leak on that barrel only?
  8. Thought about going for those Pugs... but I have some life left in my tires and may just wait around for some split-spokes instead (I like the look of them more)
  9. Cheap as it can get - maybe $100-200 w/out tires, shipped. Realistic? Thanks for the help!
  10. Yeah saw those - would be perfect if it wasn't for the price. I can't do $450 for the set, unless maybe I could use the tires and those seem big if they rub on a 4" lift... I do like the split-spoke design though
  11. Must've missed the rest of the word... city corrected I'll keep my eye out for pugs, might be easier than finding decent 13's. I do like my wheels though. Wouldn't mind cutting the fenders and making some flares or something - maybe like the ones on this 2002 I saw after Rockerbox:
  12. I'd be up for some pugs if I could find some - so long as I can fit them without a lift at this point. Could probably trim fenders and/or fabricate fender flares if I had to. Where's a good place to look for pugs? Seems like there aren't too many in my local craigslist....
  13. Does anybody know of a decent 13" tire? Something of the A/T type perhaps? Trying to decide if I should keep the 13's on my wagon or not, and it might depend on tire choices. Mine have maybe one winter left on 'em. -Ben
  14. Found it - power valve in the carb, diaphragm is shot. Constant dumping of gas regardless of vacuum = bad.
  15. I've been having some trouble with my Weberized EA82 and can't seem to figure out exactly what the problem is... it runs great except for at a certain throttle opening. Just off idle is OK, but as soon as you open it up a bit more (1/4 throttle ish) it stumbles and runs really rough - almost to the point of quitting. But full or 3/4 throttle seems to be ok. I would guess that it needs to be rejetted, except I had it running PERFECTLY not that long ago. I've had the carb apart on the car, blown out all the jets, idle circuit etc but no luck. No vac leaks that I can find either Anybody have this problem before? Any help would be greatly appreciated
  16. Been reading more than posting for a while now, figure'd I'd throw some stuff up: Soob as it looks now: Possible future stuff Bumpers/Paint/Lights? White? Also thinking of lifting it, but probably less than the usual 2"... does anybody do a 1"? Same wheels, bigger tires(if that exists for these, 185/13's on there now)
