  1. There is currently no air filter in the intake box. Who knows why. Ironically there was a mouse nest in the spare tire area plus a live mouse in the vent area under the windshield wipers but no the intake itself was fine. PCV makes the most sense to me and hopefully I will have the time to take care of it soon and see if that takes care of it.
  2. Thanks for the info, I will try that hopefully this weekend.
  3. Just bought a '83 GL, and it has been sitting for 4-5 yrs. New battery, fresh gas, a can of starter fluid and an hour later its running and driving fine. However on the way home after about 2 miles or so it starts sputtering and mis-firing and then dies. Under the hood I notice oil coming out of the intake box, take the cover off and its FULL of oil. I got out as much as I could, waited about ten minutes and it fires right up so I keep driving. Repeated this process 5 times until it finally makes it home. What gives? Is this some kind of PCV issue? It seems as though under load, like accelerating or going up hills, it just sucks oil out of the valvetrain. Idling and driving around the yard present no problems. I'm a newb to working on these things! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
