Hi Everyone!! I'm in need of some help. I live in California and I bought a 07 Impreza 2.5i (non turbo) about 2 years ago. After my first smog check the car's check engine and cruise control light came on. The cars performance has not changed or the gas mileage so I didn't pay attention to it. Now is time for another smog check and the car wont pass with the check engine light on (I tried reseting but the computer but OBDII picked up on it. too old of a trick). Well now I need to fix the problem but the emissions passed so I'm not sure whats going on. The computer is saying I need a new catalytic converter. Does anyone have any expirience with this problem? if so SHould I replace or clean the O2 sensors first and see what happens? should I use OEM or after market is fine for 02 sensors or catalytic converter? I want to be inform since I dont have any expirience with this problem. Thank you for your time

I'm looking to buy an Impreza 2.5i non turbo 2007. The car has a leakage is hardly leaking motor oil. the leakage I saw was down by the pan but i was not sure where. I notice when I went to test drive it. The guy took it to a mechanic and the mechanic said that there's a leak from a gasket in the solenoid. I was wondering if you guys could give me advice. Is this a Big problem? what is it exactly?? Is it expensive to fix?? should I buy this car with that leakage?? thanks

I'm looking at a Subaru Legacy 2005 non turbo. It has 50,000 miles and it looks like it's in very good conditions. I wanted to know if anyone knows about common issues with this car or mayor problems, stock defects, etc. I'm a college student looking for a liable car that is not going to break down on me too much and won't have mayor problems for a while. I had a 90' legacy wagon before and I know Subarus are good cars but i read about 05 legacy having major issues with the engine. If anyone has personal experience or works at a shop and would be kind to let me know about their experience. Thanks Guys

Is the REAR Passenger, Is there a differences in ABS and NON ABS since is FWD??? I did find this part 512036. and if anyone could give me heads up with some tips on how to change it?? and tools that I'm going to need, because it's my first time changing a hub. Thanks

Hi everyone! I have a 90' legacy with a ej22 engine. Lately i noticed that white smoke is coming out the exhaust. Is not noticeable when you run it but when stopped is a abnormal amount of smoke. is obvious at night. I change the motor oil to Amsoil to see if it helped, since white smoke usually means that is mixing oil and gas. Same problem so far no improvement. If anyone can help tell me the different options of what the problem could be and if possible how to fix it?? Thank you

4eat 90' automatic Just got tranny fully rebuild, but reverse still making a little rough sound when it goes in to gear. I put in reverse half a second later a rough sound ( gear going in) I know it should not do that since i just rebuild. I thought maybe the Transmission mount??? If anyone can help I would appreciate it??? Thanks

Legacy 90' 4eat transmission gets stuck on first and lately it's been going on "limp mode" after I've been running it for awhile and its hot, only if turned off and then back on again. If I don't turn it off it works fine and if it cools down it works good too. Got repair done master kit and shift kit hoping that was the problem, but no luck. Mechanic still working on it for a month now. He can't figure out the problem. No Subaru dealer around my area wants to work with it.....I need help!!

Where do you live?? Cali? I have been reading a lot about my car and i bought a Haynes manual. its an interest of mine to be able to fix everything my self and i did notice that the engine is lay out in a simple way. Thanks for the advice i did not know it was a ej22, bc i have not encounter problems with the engine yet (meaning i have not read a lot about it, since I've been reading about my tranny). I hope it stays that way

Yeah you be surprise, a lot of newer models. Its a lot of fun driving down here bc there is a lot of mountains and the beach is near too. Is a trip living down here. The only con is that i have the older model, and there is not a lot of mechanics that are willing to work with suby's bc to most mechanics is a rare car, but when you own one you start noticing them
