After fiddling for many years I am going to sell by brat. Lots of brand new parts have been installed, the entire interior has been redone, and I have a parts car (83 DL) to go with it which I could deliver if not too far away in Colorado. Want to figure out messed up wiring on '83 Brat. Had 6 wires off the hot side of battery, 3 on grnd., & car ran. Following Chilton's wiring diagrams we have 1 wire to grnd. - strt. motor & alt. on hot side. Now car does not run but it turns over fine.
Alt.- pre-made plug: wht wire w/red strip goes to ign. switch but don't know which post in pre-made plug it should go to. other wire in plug seems like it could be jumped to bat. term., is that OK?
Coil- Were 4 (1 fell out) wires from 1 coil post and 2 from other. 2 yellow ones on 1 post are OK but per. Chilton there should only be 2 from other. 1 should go to noise condenser, what's that? The other, which it was a non-original wire that fell off, should be blk/wht wire to common bus for all the solenoids (7), temp. gauge, tach, and kick down switch whatever that is. Where is bus that the blk/wht wire shoud go to? Why there are 4 wires on that 1 coil terminal that look like factory connections?
