  1. Imdew, Cougar, and Fairtax4me thank you so much. Looks like I need to get busy chasing down voltage. Will follow your advice and hope I can scare something up. If not I will let ya know what I find. Thank you so much.
  2. Hi. I have replaced both headlamp bulbs and both plugs. Over the course of the last year I have had to replace both plugs due to them over heating and melting. Two days ago the right lamp looked like it exploded due to what appeared to be excessive heat. I actually thought initially that there was to much power going to the lamps. Now, it seems like there is a voltage drop on the right side. I did not put my finger on each relay while someone turned on the switch, though I swapped right to left and they both seem to be working. ????
  3. Hello, Please help..... I have a 95 Legacy with a headlight electrical problem. The left headlight has full power to the lamp. The right headlight keeps burning out. Before it burns out it gets progressively dimmer over weeks. In addition when I turn on the brights, the left lamp gets dimmer and the right lamp seems to get full power. I checked the amps at each relay and I was getting 10.9-11.2. I am thoroughly confused. Thank you Devin
  4. Thank you! I just put a brand new OEM tstat in. Had the same problem with the last tstat that was also new but was bought from shucks.
  5. Your right, it's not rocket science but it is being very difficult. Yes, the temp rises and falls a small amount. The Tstat is in correct.
  6. Just put a new ej22 in my 95 legacy and am having a flow issue. The engine is maintaining normal temp but the lower radiator hose is COLD after more than an hour of run time. The driver side heater core hose is also cold and there is no heat. Advice! Going crazy trying to figure it out. New water pump and thermostat. Could it possibly be a bad pump??
  7. Hi all! Just finished putting a new motor in my 95 legacy and am having trouble priming the coolant system. Added fluid and can not get all the air bubbles out so she gets hot and cold spots and does not fully circulate. Is there a trick?? Should I use the vacuum method to get all the air out? Thank you!
  8. Wondering if and how you adjust the EJ22 valves for a 95 Legacy? Are they considered to be hydraulic, and if so does that mean they self adjust? Thanks!
  9. HI guys, Kind of a bone head question, but I am new to engine re-builds and front end re-seals on the 2.2s. I am swapping motors in my 95 Legacy and it was suggested to me to replace the cam o-rings. As I was taking out and installing the new cam seals I did not see where the o-rings are located. Necessary to pull cam to get to them?? Thanks!!!
  10. Thanks a lot guys! Huge help! Suba9792, you are from Sandy! Right on! I grew up in Zigzag.. What do you mean specifically when you say, "service it right"? Stoked about the engine, only 120K and runs like a top. I will go to the dealer to get bent over on the price of gaskets and seals:grin: per recommendation. I want this to last a long time. What do you guys think about synthetic oil? Worth the money? In a pinch, can you blend with conventional, or is that a no no??
  11. Hello all, I have a 95 Legacy with an engine that has a blown gasket or possibly a cracked head, and 215k miles. I made the decision to replace it with one that has 125K and runs strong. Looking for some advice/tips on pulling the old and dropping in the new. I am planning on replacing the timing belt and water pump while it is out. Anything else that would make my life easier?? I also read that it is a good idea to check and change the crank seal while your that far into it; not leaking now, probably will start soon!?; and to pull the oil pump and check the torque on the screws that hold the plate on the back of the pump assembly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have never done a full engine swap, but am excited to figure it out. Thanks everyone!
  12. Thanks John! The Impreza motor is an auto and mine is a manual. Does that mean I would have to put on the Legacy intake?
  13. I am looking into replacing my 95 Legacy 2.2L engine with a 2.2 from a 95 Impreza. Does anyone have any advice/tips dong this swap? Thanks!
