  1. I have a '97 Subaru Legacy Outback with 95K miles on it, and the clutch is getting closer and closer to the top of the pedal -- barely an inch from the top. I'm assuming I'm going to have to replace it and, since it is a self-adjusting clutch, it doesn't just need an adjustment. My two questions are: 1)Is my assumption likely accurate? 2)What happens when the clutch finally does go out? (What I'm really wondering here: Will it go out gradually and I’ll still be able to drive it, or will it require a tow? Should I just get the darn thing fixed, or can I wait a while?) Any advice is appreciated!
