    Thanks for the info.I was just wanted manual because my auto tranny is on the way out and i prefer manual over auto.I like the motor i have currently ,thing is i would like to keep it AWD .

    I am looking to change out my 1996 Legacy Outback 2.5L motor and auto Transmission.I would like to install a motor with a manual transmission,but i would like to keep a 2.5L motor.After looking into it ,it appears that i can put in a 97 2.5L manual transmission motor.Has anyone hear of anyone doing this or has anyone done this themselves ? Could anyone suggest anywhere to buy a low-mileage motor and manual transmission set up ?

    Does anyone know a good Subaru repair shop on the southside of Austin,TX area? Not looking for dealership more like a import repair shop that specializes on Subaru's.I will moving to the San Marcos,TX area just outside of Austin.
