  1. Im probably not the guy to ask pal....im really new to this stuff myself. I just know that if are gonna use a later motor than a 94 then you'll still need the complete intake from a 94 or older because of the wiring I think.

  2. Hey man,

Its obvious that guy screwed me and didn't send it to you and I haven't had the cash to re-buy everything...so if you're still willing give me the total for the whole thing harness an all. And ill paypal the money to ya. Thanks. -ian

  3. Yeah so I got that rear end from that guy for $80. It says 3.9 on it but it doesn't say LSD. Could it still be a LSD rear end?
  4. Im swapping out this d/r tranny and im wondering what this cord is? The s/r doesn't have it.I picked this up and a viscous LSD rear end.
  5. Yeah sending that tomorrow to Scott. Thanks.
  6. So I got old turd out 'round 2:00 this morning. Not too hard considering I don't know what im doing. But it did raise a question...what do you with the throttle cable? Do you need the one from the donor car? Or can you rig the old one? The project:1986 gl10
  7. Im usually the guy who brings his car in to get his brakes changed and what not. But after buying a Subaru gl10 and reading alot here on usmb I've been inspired to do an ej swap. So I bought a ej22 with about 100,000 on it from a guy for $450. It came with a complete intake from a '94 and wiring harness(well still waiting for the harness...hopefully will have it tomorrow). And got an adapter plate for $100 from Albie @ http://www.smithsoutfittingspecialties.com/ Also got a 4 inch lift with steering for $450.
  8. Trying to figure out how to post picshttp://s939.photobucket.com/albums/ad239/martinez_ian/?action=view&current=IMG_20110304_104226.jpg
  9. Thanks guys for the response. Ill be sending it to gloyale! He's local.
  10. Yeah, starting this week im ej'n my 86 gl-10. Is was wondering if anyone knew of someone who prepares the wiring for this swap. I know numbchux does this but the poor guy is probably swamped. If anyone else does this service email me ianmartinez.im@gmail.com thanks
  11. Hey man do know anywhere locally where I could get an ej wiring harness? Im buying a ej22 from a guy. Thanks.

  12. I'm getting a LSD rearend from a guy for $275 not sure if this a good deal but since I can't find one anywhere else locally I figured its not so bad. Anyway, he thought it came from a '94 loyale. Will this bolt right on my ea82? Sorry if this is a really dumb question...this is my first project car.
  13. I have a 86gl10 Turbo and I'm really wanting to do a d/r swap. Where should I start? Will any ea82 d/r work? Thanks.
  14. Yeah do you think putting 27s would be too much temporarily until I did the ej swap? I mean ea82t is not exactly a powerhouse but I kinda want to put some bigger tires on it(after I lift it). But yeah let me know when you get the alternator ill head down there. Thanks.

  15. Well listen if I found an ej motor for my car could you or do you know anyone locally that could do the swap? I got some cash for this project and I think this would be the best upgrade.

  16. Well after a closer look its actually a hole in a heater hose that's kind of buried. But that kind of bums me out that ea82t is not the best engine. Do you do ej swaps, or do you think there enough info out there for an amateur to do it? At any rate I will want that alternator swap pretty soon. Its a single pulley. Thanks.

  17. Hey there,

Actually, this HG deal has got me excited. I haven't really had the interest in working my own vehicle before owning this Subaru. Is there anything I should be concerned about? Are there any tips you could give me? Its a gl10 t. Thanks.

  18. Hey there GD, I kinda had a set back. I think my car blew a head gasket. But when I sort that out I I definitely want to swap the alternator. I'm glad you live close by!

  19. Hey I'm REALLLY interested in your car if its still for sale. call me I just from montana near longview, WA. My number is 4063906997 thanks ian

  20. Hey there thanks for the response. Im really interested in doing that alternator swap. I live about 45 min. from Portland (clatskanie). Send me some info; cost and what not. Thanks. -ian

  21. Probably a dumb question but I have a couple of deep cycle batteries and I was thinking about putting them in parallel to run a couple Piaa atp lights on my 86 gl10. Would this work? Or would it just be better to take the time to upgrade to a larger altenator? If so which alternator is easiest to swap with? Thanks and sorry if this question has already been asked.
  22. Changed the PCV valve......that did the trick! Thanks guys.
  23. My friend I bought it from said he just changed the fuel pump, which I guess doesn't rule it out but it only chugs after I've driven 30-40 mi. And I changed filters. Its injected-turbo-1.8
