  1. You and me both Doc. Garfield, Washington (just north of Pullman)
  2. A Swedish trike is basically a standard delta trike (two rear wheels, one front wheel) that is powered by a mid engine air cooled volkswagen. The design calls for using an empty vw trans case as an adapter/spacer between the engine and the functioning vw transaxle. Using a Subaru automatic transaxle would be a natural fit, it would already be set up for a mid engine design. I'm thinking that a Kennedy adapter plate could be used in the reverse method that it is intended for: flip the adapter and mount the vw motor to the Subaru transmission. The biggest piece of drivetrain to fabricate would be a spud shaft to mate the two. I have been known to be overly optimistic in the past...
  3. I've lurked here for about six months, didn't join as I was just "passing through", or so I thought. Long, boring, lame, story short: Jack of all trades, my last job was as an industrial electrician/electronic repairman over in Olympia, Wa. Due to some health issues (my body tried to kill me:dead:) I'm barely walking and no longer working. A series of events led my family and I to Eastern Washington, small town (like I grew up in), and I'm happier than a bull elk in rut! I have always loved cars, grew up logging and farming, exposed at a tender young age to tinkers, adapters, free thinkers, and other assorted nutcases. I caught the disease and have never been the same zzz. My current "concept" (my next project is actually going to be a garage, or something that resembles a garage) is a "Swedish Trike". However, as I cannot use my left leg to operate a clutch, I'm going to be looking for a 2wd Subaru automatic transmission. I've also spent some time perusing the lifts that have been built on this board, I'm hoping to find a 4x4 wagon with an automatic to wedge my own lift into. Anyways, thanks for the board, I hope I can contribute, or at the very least, not add to the general decline in intelligence that the internet seems to be suffering from. Thanks, enjoy the day, RichG
