I need a new engine. I have found a 1.8 Turbo (dual port) for my 1991 Loyale but do not know if if can swap it for my 1.8 single port. Does anyone have any experience with this? thanks!

trying to figure out how to read the codes on my loyale, this is not covered in my chiltons and i found a post on how to read the codes by 'connect the two green connectors under hood by wiper motor near the firewall on drivers side' to read the LED under the drivers side kick panel. is there anyother way to do this? i just want to get all the info before i get out in the snow to work on it. and if you know a good code reference so that when i do get this figured out i can know what the codes mean that would be super great. also, besides the check engine light on i think it is only getting about 20 mpg, is slow on the uptake, oil pressure drops quickly at idle, but it only has 610,XXX i don't know the vehicle history since i just bought it and the guy that i bought it from didn't know what he was doing (spark plugs are all cross threaded) my guess is O2 censor and an oil pump problem.
