I just bought an 86 that had been stripped out. There are actually 3/8" more thread. Bought a longer bolt and haven't had any issues since.

Greetings fellow Subie nuts. My name is JR and I am not new to the website, I just haven't been very active on the site. So like the title says 3rd times going to be the charm. Had an 87 gl wagon with cracked heads which wasn't to big of a problem for me but the rig was my main source of transportation I had to sell it. Sad da.sk I picked up a 83 gl wagon with the rad plaid interior. Only to find out it had frame damage. Now I have a good commuter and its time to take on another project. I really love the bigger bodies of the post 85 but I think they just look a lot cooler. As far as the motor I would really love to put the newer motor in, which I feel confident mechanically. The only thing that I feel would be overwhelming would be the wiring harness. I need some inspiration guys!
