its kind of a grayish color. i think there might be a bit of water in the tank and that combined with a possible gasket leak could explain the smoke but what about the idle? thank you

Okay guys I started out looking for body parts, but now I need some mechanical help. I did a full tune up on the brat and it seemed to make it run worse so I had the hitachi rebuilt and it ran like a champ untill it got warm now it smokes like a steam locomotive and idles around 2500 to 3000 rpm no matter how much i adjust the carb or adjust the distributer. The fuel tank need to be dropped and cleaned out but that loooks like a pain to do, so I guess my question is would bad fuel make my car run like this? It doesnt appear to be using any oil or coolent, the previous owner told me that he rebuilt the engine put about 5000 miles on it and parked in 1995 and in 2011 i bought it and it was the first time its run since then. Any help is greatly appreciated, I feel like giving up on it out of frustration and selling the damn thing but everytime I look at it I talk my self out of it . Okay thank you so much. Shocks, struts, doors, fenders, taillights, shifter boot. I believe that's everything. Its in really good shape for sitting for 16 years and only paying 500 for it. It fired right up after some fresh gas drives beautifully

I saw thos on ebay, I just thought there may be another place I could get them. Um I need just the lenses but its been without a lens for 16 years and the plastic inside has probably become brittle so I should probably replace the whole thing. Um I need a shifter boot. I think that's pretty much it. It's in pretty good shape. What do I do for an shock and strut upgrade?

Hey everyone, Im going to be buying a 78 brat for 500 bucks soon I need to know where I can get parts for it. Ive looked on google and even did some searches here and I cant seem to find anything anywhere. Can someone please tell me where I can get some fenders ( they have some rust problems, i would rather replace them but I can fix them if i have to), doors (once again I can patch them up right but I would rather replace them), and taillights. I cant seem to find them any-place. I will eventually need to replace struts, I would like an upgrade but its seeming like the only way im going to be able to upgrade is if i retro-fit something off a newer subi correct? Any info is greatly appreciated. Ive only owned American and this is my first japanese car and im at a complete loss. Thanks in advance!
