I just bought an 02 LL Bean for about 16K, but it had higher miles. So far, great car (3 weeks). The same dealer has an 03 VDC with 19K listed for 22K, so yours seems like a pretty good deal (blue book around here is around 23K). I had mine checked out with an ex-subaru head mechanic, who does all the work on my 91 Legacy. He said it was clean, and cheap.
I'd check yours out thoroughly. Pay someone to go over it. I paid about $100 bucks, and they went over it with a fine tooth comb, and also did a compression check. A cheap insurance policy I thought

Have the chace to buy an 02 H6 Outback sedan which I believe has VDC for $19K. Car is very clean with 15K miles. Does this deal sound too good to be true? :cornfuzz: It is located at my local Honda dealer (was on my way to getting the 03 Accord Coupe EX for $22K )How are these cars? BTW I have a 98 OBW with 120Kmiles which I am very happy with but I cant see spending > $30K for a new H6 Outback. Any advice appreciated.

I have a 91 legacy 5 speed AWD, 2.2
Great car, running strong at about 170K
Preventive timing belt at 80K (prev owner)
new starter at 100K
Clutch at 125K (my wife is not the smoothest with a clutch)
Muffler and tail pipe at about 140K.
Rotors and pads all the way around 145K
I've had problems with torn CV boots, ergo 1 axle bearing and 1 wheel bearing change at 150K
new alternator 3 weeks ago (168K)
Lower R Ball joint (yesterday) fell apart on mechanic putting on new axle CV boot - 170K
Bought a used 02 LL Bean Outback 3 weeks ago, but will drive Lazarus (the 91 keeps rising from the proverbial dead) until it truly is dead.
Still cheap enough on repairs to justify another couple hundred here or there every year. When it dies, I'll get the fun of cutting it up at the local fire dept for training, as well as the tax write-off.
How long will it go? No telling. Still getting Hi 20's per gallon, and I dirve 75 miles per day.
