  1. No...thats about average mileage here on the Big Island...customer bought the car here new in 2007. I moved here about 4 years ago and that was one of things that I had to get used to was the high mileage on most of the cars coming to my shop...I have several Toyota customers with over 300k and a few outbacks with 250k and still going....
  2. The customer said it made noise for a little while when he stepped the clutch so I'd agree with you on those little clips being the cause. Those clips are $5.56 a piece too. No rust on them either. Just another Subaru flaw????
  3. I own a repair shop here on the Big island of Hawaii and see a lot of Subies...lots of blown head gaskets on the 2.5s too but this one has me puzzled. Customer came in with the shifter stuck in 1st and clutch pedal had a lot of free play. We pulled the trans and found the t/o bearing had broken as well as a few of the fingers on the clutch plate. It's hard to say which happened first because the clips for the t/o bearing were broken and had possibly started the whole process. Of course the clips don't come with the clutch kit and had to be special ordered. Anyone had this type of problem with a Subaru this new with this low a mileage?
