    Just took a bunch of pictures tonight after taking it on it's first journey. I must remember, it is my son's Brat, but I'm sure enjoying working on it with him. Surprised him when I went to pick him up at his buddy's house in it. I will try to post some.

    Wait, do you have a tailgate handle? They say a regular door handle works.

    1979 Brat. While searching around the engine compartment, I found a spring hanging from the clutch cable. It has a rubber piece folder over the cable and then attached to a spring that is about 4-5 inches long. It looks like it is suppose to help align/route the clutch cable or hold it away from something. I have seen new cables sold with this spring. What is its purpose and where is it suppose to be attached? Thanks,

    Sounds like it might be better to remove the Y pipe and have it welded, patched, fixed, what ever it takes.

    What are people doing about the exhaust on these things? Has anyone had new exhaust fabricated from the motor back? I have a nice exhaust guy here in town that will bend his own stuff. Has anyone put dual exhaust on their brat? just starting our rebuild and I know exhaust will be in our future. Plan on mounting a skid plate on the front bumper brush guard. Thanks, 2 weeks into Brat ownership...and loving it.

    Only get the plastic door things if they're in decent shape, I'll keep looking unless they are in good shape and can be painted.. or repaired.

    Was sent your way because I need some 1979 Brat parts.

     

    Need the interior pillar cover that goes from the dash up to the roof. It is plastic and cover the windshield pillar.

     

    Need the 4WD emblem that is on the front grill. The grill has 4 headlights.

     

    Do you have an ignition with key. The Brat did not come with any keys. Might need the door locks too then.
