  1. Hey, just stoppin in to say what's up. I'm a few months behind you in the soob game. I figured you're close and going through a bit of the same stuff i'm about to be going through, so you'd be a good connection.

  2. Hey ya'll, The previous owner of my wagon installed a set of front and rear GL-10 seats that I don't like very much. Does anyone know what seats will fit in that car without too much fabrication (Subaru or otherwise)? I've been looking at a fairly cheap set of 90-94 Legacy seats, but I haven't measured them to see if they'll fit. I'd still like the rear seats to fold down like the originals if possible. Gracias! Matthew
  3. Thanks for the input Rugby. Do you know if anyone makes a complete seal/gasket kit for the engine? Can you recommend a good place online to order these OEM parts through? Also, I've read some things are better off ordered straight from Subaru (such as the thermostat) because of the difference in quality. Is this true? I'd rather not order much through Subaru or the dealership as I know it's normally much more expensive that aftermarket. Thanks! Matt
  4. Hello again ya'll, Found a guy in Washington today that has a 94' 2.2 w/140K miles, ECU, and wire harness. Should be picking it up this weekend. I have a few questions that maybe someone can answer. I've read the EA2EJ swap PDF several times. 1.) I'm going to replace the timing belt, water pump, and tensioner just to be on the safe side. Is there anything else I should consider replacing while I have the engine out? Head gaskets, seals, etc. I guess I'm speaking from a reliability standpoint. 2.) I was thinking of having the cams ground. Delta cams is right down the street from me and they do regrinds for the 2.2. Any input? Of course this would go along with an intake and exhaust. 3.) I'm installing a clutch kit while I have the EA tranny apart for the install. After reading the PDF, it was suggested to use an XT6 pressure plate. Can I use a clutch kit for an XT6 (pressure plate and disc). I was looking at this one from Exedy: http://www.exedyusa.com/race/15009 4.) Aside from the engine, mounts, intake(airbox), and wire harness, what else should I pull from the donor car? Thanks in advance for any input. Regards, Matt
  5. Thanks! Yeah, I definitely get some attention in it. I had to take off the "Monster Energy" decals as I'm almost 30 and I didn't think I could pull it off... How long you been into Subes UberScoober? Nice "leet speak" name BTW. Cheer! Matt
  6. Hey guys, My name's Matthew. I'm currently living in Tacoma, WA and just picked up my first Subie. It's an 88' GL wagon SFPI EA82 4WD. 4" lift (supposedly from Australia), custom front and rear bumpers, Peugot 14" steelies, and RX3 rear disc conversion. You can check out this Photobucket link if you want to see a few pics of what it looks like currently: http://s1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb342/usafmvp01/Subie/ Use password "guestpass". The guy I bought it from (Jeff) was a member of the NW Offroad group up near Bellingham, WA. I made my first successful road trip from Tacoma to Corvallis this last weekend. That was all it took to convince me to do the EJ22 conversion! So I am on the hunt for a complete swap setup (EJ22 engine, ECU, wire harness, and adapter plate. So, if you're in Washington or Oregon and have any of these for sale, let me know. Also, if anyone would be interested in helping out with this swap in the future, hit me up. I'd be willing to trade the EA82 and maybe something else (beer ) for compensation. I've never done an engine swap before and despite the amount of info on this forum, the wire splicing is a little intimidating. I'd also be willing to help someone else out with their swap or something (basically just another pair of hands). Other small projects in the mix are, sound dampening the interior, finding newer (more comfortable) seats, better door speakers, reupholster the headliner/door panels, remove the carpet and install rubber matting, bigger tires/wheels after the engine swap. Also, if there's anyone around the South Sound area (Seattle, Tacoma, Oly, etc.) that'd be interesting in starting a small club or something, let me know. Seems like most of the guys are farther up north. Ok, that's enough rambling for now. Just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks to the guys that make this site possible. It's great to be part of a forum like this where almost everyone is supportive an helpful and not acting like a bunch of teenage YouTubers (i.e. most diesel/JDM forums). Prost! Matt
