  5. last time i replaced it i had to go cheap.. got flywheel from highway auto in monroe
  6. Yup... Uncle owns a offroad and fab shop. and helped me with the last swap... cable was clutch cable was replaced and adjusted just like you said... felt like a brand new car for about a month... just like the other times. He is pretty stumped about the issue. even pulled it back out to look for issues. next time it comes out gonna have to look into this step thing on the flywheel myself.. make sure its correct.
  7. I believe so took it to a local shop. I did mention that to him at the time he said he knew all about it so.. The second time i swapped it all out for all new stuff. clutch/PP/flywheel.
  8. Greetings!! 84 gl hatch ea81/4spd dr weber carb I've swapped out the clutch a few times. But no matter what... It runs great for a month or so then starts to slip. It's driving me crazy. I can still drive it but I'm that person in the slow lane going to slow trying to build up speed. Anyone got any ideas? Need more info?? I don't drive it like i stole it. Got all that out of me when i was younger with a built 74 chevy nova. Thanks for your time..
  9. nope.. got a lil bit of wiggle to it..
  10. ok... so clutch install went great.. except for... it's still slipping. mechanic said flywheel looked good so we just went with it.. thinkin maybe should have had it turned anyways but just to make sure i've got the right flywheel to begin with i would like to double check part number... only numbers i can see on it are K-1 10 and 904 google searches on those number return nothing. wondering if anyone has any ideas..
  11. well it's been slipping for a while so i figure it might have some hot spots or something on it.. i've adjusted the the cable multiple times just to make sure its not that.. but everytime i give it a bit to much gas.. like if trying to pass someone it revs up.. but thats it.. no increase in speed... until i back off the gas an ease into it.. I've just replaced the cable do to it snapping at the pedal. am i even right to assume it is the clutch? been into cars for years mostly chevy v8. ive had my share of small cars but this is first with clutch. not that i dont know how to drive one... just first time having to deal with it. thank you for your quick response
  12. Greetings!! As stated in the title i've got a 84 gl hatch 4wd. I'm gonna replace the clutch on sunday and i'm running into information issues. I understand the i need to have the flexplate turned.. but my issue is no machine shop in my area is open on sunday... so i had this bright idea that id just goto a scrap yard pick one up have it turned an be done with it.. problem is.. no car like mine. I was wondering if anyone out there had an idea about which flexplates where usable from different years? was out at lynwood pick an pull they got a 88 or 89 not 4wd and not same engine. Ive got a mech friend helping me with this.. i'm disabled and can't do much leg work so just working off what he says he finds is there a parts cross reference my google searches just cant find?? Any help is greatly appreciated thanks for your time.

  15. So for a couple days now ive been trying to find this part for my subaru... nobody has it listed... recently replaced the front passenger cv axle... i noticed that unline the drivers side the washer behind the castle nut is gone... an the part that goes behind that is just about toast... local part stores look at me funny.. according to there books it's just castle nut an washer... but on the drivers side of my car there is castle nut washer then... not sure what to call it... looks like a washer but has a kinda shoulder part then a dome... any idea as to what this is?? id take pics.. but no camera the chiltons manual dont even show it as being there... so cunfused... thank you for your time
