  3. ok i have only posted once before but dont want you to think i havnt used this web site. i have spents hours reading and looking and would like to thank all of you that respond it has helped me alot!!!! ok now for my problem. 1988 spfi 5 speed. i just put a new enging in it about 4 months ago. everything was fine until abiut a week ago. went out to start it and it wouldnt start, cranked but no fire. waited about five minutes and tried agian it fired right up. the next day the same thing. this happened about 3 or 4 times, untill it woulnt start at all. i first checked spark and there was spark at the plugs. i took the fuel line off the output side of the fuel fiter and started the fuel pump, fuel came out about three or four inch stream. put the line back on and low and behold it started right up. the next day it woulndnt start so i did the same thing. tried to start it and it woulnd. installed another fuel pump and it started right up again. thought it was fixed, but no! went to startit an hour later and no start. replaced the FPR and still no start. this is really making me mad anyone have some ideas? new fuel pump new FPR the fuel filter was replaced about four months ago(could this be cloged allready?) fuel pump has always run and pumped fuel. i have not put a preasur gauge on it. dont have one. spark has always been there.
