  1. Thanks. Yeah looks like exhaust and heat shields hafta get outta the way. How do you get the old seal out? Just a hook and pull sort of thing then bang in a new one with oversized socket? Your kinda vague. lol Dude she bought it from put a junkyard tranny in it, so I'm just hoping it was dried out(noticed a broken tranny mount bolt when I checked it out yesterday). She swears she didn't over/underfill it.
  2. First off, I'm an antique Dodge guy but my ex has a '96 Outback that she's very happy with. It's leaking pretty bad from where the rear driveshaft enters the tranny so I'm thinking its the output shaft seal(if that's what Subaru calls it). I'm frightened of modern japanese technology so my question is how would I go about replacing it? Repair manual she has tells nothing and I don't wanna just jump into it. Thanks in advance!
