  1. Are transmissions interchangable between Outbacks and Foresters?

    I am new to this forum and don't know all the abbreviated language so bear with me. I have a 2002 Subaru Forester, automatic, and my transmission is starting to slip - it is gonna have to be replaced eventually. I am trying to find the least expensive way to get this done and I am hoping I can find a cheap transmission. Does anyone know if any other year and make of Subaru transmission will actually fit into my car without a lot of fuss? I appreciate the help.
