  1. A hood scoop wont help, not enough heat transfer to cool it down. Only thing I can come up with is there is some sort of hot and cold circuit for the coolant i.e. when it heats up and when it is at temp the flow is different...
  2. Not the radiator cap, I just replaced it. seems to me that if it were the headgasket I'd be loosing coolant, which I am not. Could water pumps on subarus possibly do this? Its not leaking and there is no play in it. Thanks!
  3. Hope someone can figure this out as I surely can't!! I have a 1992 loyale with low miles and an automatic and it has the most voodoo problem: drive around town (30-50 mph) no problem; take it on the interstate (65-70 mph, 4000 rpm) no problem until AFTER you slow down (i.e. go into a residential area) then it starts to heat up rapidly. When you stop the radiator is cool but the motor is hot!! It's not the thermostat (I have a 180 in it) as I have replaced it 2x. when you crack the radiator cap the coolant rushes into the radiator and it is good to go. Heap of thanks!!
