Well I just swapped the engine in my 80 brat to get her mobile. It originally had a 1.6 ea71 with a broken crank. She came with a spare engine, another 1.6, but shes alive and I can get her in the garage and on the lift. I ordered the weber carb yesterday, and now im wondering about the exhaust....... Are the 1.6's narrower?? I guess what im asking is do I have to stick with the earlier exhaust or can I go with a newer one. Im not looking for performance upgrade just easier to find the parts.

Hello everyone! Chris here from central mass! I have had suby's in the past, and now my boys are old enough that I can have another toy! I have had multiple lifted jeeps but wanted something different, and have owned and 86 brat that I loved. So I started searching and found an 80 brat just up from arizona and bought her. Crank was broken but solid body and spare engine came with car. Swapped engine yesterday, still running the 1.6 but will hopefully upgrade to a 1.8 once the car is lifted and painted. She started on the first crank but not running good at all LMAO gonna start a weber upgrade and go from there! But im just here to introduce myself, and I look forward to shareing her build with you! Hopefully pics soon if I can steal the camera from the wife lol
