  1. EJ222 to replace OBW EJ25

    gravityfeeder posted a topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
    I am looking for some guidance. The phase 2 EJ222 has completely different wiring harness plugs. The throttle body has far more electrical going on on the EJ222 than the EJ25. Can I swap throttle bodies. The intake looks much cleaner/simple on the EJ222. The position of the throttle body looks much the same so I'm thinking that my air intake plastic might fit the EJ222. Crank pulleys differ between the engines. I'm asumming that both the crank and cam trigger pulleys will need changed if using the EJ25 ECU. I'm looking for any tips or ideas before I pull my tired leaking EJ25. Is the EJ222 a rather unreliable engine?
