  1. Thank for the reply. I've posted here http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=1119958#post1119958

    Look forward to your advice

  2. I have an 04 Outback 2.5 engine. Had shop recharge system, but didn't fix problem. Unit cuts in and out, screeches. Shop said compressor was sparking and has to be replaced. Does this seem right? Recommendation on new vs junk yard? Threads I've read indicate compressor failure is rare. In looking for replacement, what year and models would be a match? Are all 2.5 a/c the same? Looking at new online shows a lack of aftermarket for 2004 Outback. Would 2005 match? Thanks for the assistance. Paul
  3. Paul - i don't use these visitor messages - start a thread and then send me a link to the thread and i'll reply there. these messages are too convoluted to follow and reply for everyone that has a question. sounds like you simply need a new compressor and orings. thanks, Gary

  4. Hi Gary. I read your post about fixing A/C compressor. Does the same info apply to the 2.5L engine. I have an 04 Outback. Had shop recharge system, but didn't fix problem. Unit cuts in and out, screeches. Shop said compressor was sparking and has to be replaced. Your thoughts? Also in looking for replacement, what year and models would be a match? Are all 2.5 a/c the same? Looking at new online shows a lack of aftermarket for 2004 Outback. Would 2005 match? Thanks for the assistance. Paul
