I recently replaced the seals in my Liberty '96 Power Steering Pump. When I first started the engine, the steering pump was working fine and there was no evidence of leaks. But,when I took the car for a test drive I lost my power steering momentarily. The power steering returned only after I revved the engine a couple of times. This happened several times over a 20 mile drive. Now, the pump is working O.K.. Does anyone know wheather the revving of the engine was bleeding the pump of air or was it a case of small particle of dirt within the hydraulic lines? Does the pump need bleeding after reconnection of the hydraulic lines?
