  1. Thanks for the advice guys. No I've never rebuilt a tranny before (except on an old dirt bike). Yes the tranny is currently bolted to a motor and yes I'm hooking it up to an EA82. The push button tranny I've got in there right now is whining in first and second and the clutch pedal rattles like crazy due to a worn pilot bearing seat. When hooking up the new tranny will the wires be the same (for the 4wd light)? Also can I shift this tranny on the fly like I do with my push button? Lastly will the output shafts be the same on this tranny (a non-turbo GL10) as on my 93 loyale? cheers josh
  2. Hi, I'd love to covert my 1993 loyale to a low range five speed tranny. I found a dual range at the junkyard but I'm a bit nervous about buying it without knowing how it works. Is there any way to test it without a running motor..? I ran it through the gears ect. It shifts fine but feels slightly sloppy when it's in neutral. Are there rebuild kits for these trannies and is this something a layman could tackle? Any general tips on this coversion would also be appreciated. cheers
  3. Thanks for the imput guys, the timing belts are about 2 years old but I do have an oil leak up front (probably cam shaft seals) so maybe the belts are messed up due to oil contamination. Timing is still bang on though. I have a new fuel pump kicking around anyway so I'll give that a try too. cheers PS Where do I get an FSM?
  4. Hello all, I've got a 93 4wd wagon (non-turbo) which I love. Unfortunately it started to bog down during highway driving (usually on hills) and I noticed hesitation during acceleration. It is now consistantly very under-powered on hills. I replaced the spark plugs- which looked fine, wires and rotor with no effect. My mechanic is suggesting that the fuel injection system may be to blame, yet mileage does not seem to be effected. Any thoughts? Thanks for any ideas
