  1. thanks for the info regarding my transaxle post... I appreciatethe fact that the trans may be too long to use. I would really like to see a photo of as many subaru transaxles as possible to determine if I should go down this path. anybody out there have any photos? Please email me if you do. thanks dave dheld@cfl.rr.com
  2. I'm new to the subaru world, but have been reading as much as possible online. I manufacture engine / transaxle cradles http://specificmotors.com/explain.html for a number of applications. I'm not looking to sell anything here, rather I'm looking to learn about transaxles. I currently use Porsche transaxles with Chevy V8's for higher power applications and the Dodge Intrepid V6 drivetrain for other applications. I'm looking for any photos of Subaru engine and transaxles that show the layout of the engine / trans out of a car... Since my cradles are made for mid-engine applications, I'm looking for a FWD transaxle or info on how to 'disconnect' the rear drive capability of a 4wd transaxle setup. My initial investigation tells me that the SVX 6 cylinder drivetrain would suit my needs the best, but I'm open to learning. Lastly, I'm in Cocoa Beach FL... If anyone knows of a subaru wrecking yard or high performance shop in Tampa, Orlando, or on what's left of the east coast of Florida, please pass their contact info along. thanks for reading... this post was longer than I originally intended. dave dheld@cfl.rr.com
