  1. I know that I should first search the boards, though I am about to head off to work and do not have the time at the moment, please do forgive me for that, though I am hoping somone that has had an issue of this nature in the past can help. I now own a '97 Impreza 2.2L and the check engine light is on, the tank is full and the gas cap is on tight so I know it is not something as simple as that, though beyond that, I am not sure. I will probably run it by a local shop tomorrow, though I was wondering if there is anything specific I should check for before taking it down to the shop and if so, what can be done? I just had to see the car have an problem already, while it is used, it is rather new to me since the previous car I had was complete junk, hence me getting this one. The light just seems to have came on too as it did not when I was test driving or anything of that nature. Any assistence is appreciated!!!
