Telematics Communication in Progress
Just bought a 2017 Impreza 5 dr limited--2 weeks old! However, yesterday after I started the car the message "Telematics Communication in Progress" appeared on the screen. There was nothing I could do to get rid of it. Everything was frozen. Couldn't use GPS, play the radio or CD. I turned off the ignition and started the car again--nothing. The same message appeared on the screen. Quite annoyed that I had to drive home without the benefit of music. I had to run an errand and about 30 minutes later everything was OK. Does anyone know if this is a glitch that is going to keep happening?

Noise when turning
I have a 2002 Impreza, 80,000 miles. The problem occurs when I make right turns only and not all the time, mostly on sharp turns. The noise happens after I make the turn when the steering wheel is returning to normal position. The noise is a somewhat grinding noise but I also feel a vibration at the same time.

2002 Impreza makes noise when accelerating
Lynne replied to Lynne's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI listened very carefully this am as there was no traffic in the street. The noise I hear from the outside by the engine sounds like a hissing noise. Sounds different on the inside. Of course it stopped when I got to the Subaru service. They're letting it sit for a while and will do another road test

2002 Impreza makes noise when accelerating
Lynne replied to Lynne's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe noise is low pitch. The most recent work was about 2months ago. It was the regular maintenance work. No parking garage or alley nearby--was thinking about that.

2002 Impreza makes noise when accelerating
My 2002 impreza has approximately 75,000 miles. Today it started to make a noise when accelerating. I don't know how to describe this noise--it's not a knocking, ticking or rumbling noise, and I'm not sure what a whirring noise is--to me it sounded like a suction of a vacuum cleaner. When I pressed on the gas pedal the noise got louder--but here's the thing it would stop and come back, so it wasn't continually making the noise. In addition I thought I heard a very quiet noise when not accelerating, but not sure--couldn't pinpoint that in traffic. I'm bringing it in for repair on Friday but was wondering if anyone could suggest what might be the problem. I would like to be somewhat knowledgeable about this situation when I speak to the mechanic.

SQUEAKING NOISE IN THE DASHBOARD
Lynne replied to Lynne's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI should have thought about bouncing the car up and down--good idea. I need to narrrow the problem down as the squeaking is not consistent. It is awfully loud however. Today I drove the car quite a bit as I had many errands to run--and you guessed it--not one squeak. However I am not optimistic. When it comes back, which I'm sure it will, I will try your suggestion. Don't want to do it on the weekend just in case I make it worse.

SQUEAKING NOISE IN THE DASHBOARD
Yesterday, for the first time, I heard a squeaking noise in the dash board. Nothing when I first started driving but as I continued it got louder and more frequent and only on uneven road surfaces. The noise seems to come from somewhere on the driver's side to the middle of the dash. I took it to the subaru mechanic--he drove and I sat in the front passenger seat. And nothing happened. He told me if it happens again to come back. So later in the afternoon I was back. This time I drove and he sat in the passenger seat. I happened only once and then nothing. 1. Can the weight on the passenger side cause some kind of shifting or is it just a coincidence? 2. what in the dash can cause a squeaking noise. 3. any thoughts on something else it might be? I have a 2002 2.5 TS impreza And I did empty the glove compartment and back seat and the noise was still occurring.
