yeah it ate the teeath of the gear off the cam i was assuming it knocked the gear of the distributor too but its the gear on the cam pulled the teeth out with a magnet id kinda like to get the whole assembly it seems like it would be easier

do you have a breather cap on the passenger side? you need to take air in on the passenger side.
if you just have a hose going directly to the pcv then its probably sucking up oil like a straw. you should put a T inline with a small opening to allow some fresh air in. you want to keep the air inlet small so you still suck crank case gasses, you can run it to the air cleaner which would be best.
also dont forget when you pull a bunch of stuff off you get oil and grease spread around, it might just need a good washing.
my passenger side is ran to the air breather so i should "T" it off at the pcv valve and run it into my air breather?

i ran the drivers side crank case hose to the pcv valve

"Better off" is a subjective term open to all sorts of interpretations.
It is probably less expensive to go with a straight pipe... unless your car is still subject to inspection. Then it can get costly.
In my opinion, there is no performance to be gained from deleting the cat, especially a new one.
Is your current cat physically screwed up?
it sounds like something is bouncing around inside it. my concern is if i delete the cat will i loose any power
-
am i better off removing and replacing it with a straight pipe or just replacing the cat
