  1. Trouble shot the Throttle Position Sensor tonight and found that the resistance was all over the place between closed throttle and half throttle. It would jump from 9k to 20k and sometimes up to 60k before it got to half throttle. After half throttle, (about 7k on the meter) resistance smoothed out as it increased, ending at 2.5k). Overall resistance was high at closed and open position based on specs in Haynes manual. When I put the connector back on an checked voltage, got the same erractic readings as the resistance only in volts. Jumped around +/- 2 volts as the throttle moved closed to open and back closed. Going to order a TPS tonight and change it out. I'll give an update once thats done. And yes, I used an analog meter to test this. :-) Jeff
  2. About a week ago my car started doing something funny. I was driving down the road and it was like the engine cut out briefly. It has begun doing it more frequently. To me it feels like ignition is going away briefly on all cylinders. It generally does it when I am cruising. It hasn't done it under heavy power. No lights come on on the instrument panel when this happens. It will cut out for approximately 1 - 2 seconds. Sometime just once or sometimes two or three times back to back. The worst time it did it the check engine light came on momentarily. It will do it any RPM but not at idle. I checked the codes and I got: TPS O2 Cam sensor Crank sensor Some may have been stored so I have reset them and will check again tonight. There are two other things that I am experiencing that I will relay in case they are related: Has real trouble starting when its cold. It acts mostly like it has no spark. Just cranks with no signs of life. Battery is fine and cranking good. Modulating the pedal a lot gets it to pop a little. (I know it is Injected) When you hold the pedal all the way to the floor it will start but run rough for a approximately a minute...like its running on two or three cylinders...then it smooths out. It has new plugs and wires. Also, my tranny has also been acting up a little. Long gaps between shifts causing revs when I am pushing it before the torque converter grabs it. I checked the fluid and it looked okay and didn't smell burned. This was an old post before that I changed a little and reposted because there was no closure on the old post. Thanks, Jeff
  3. I know this topic was and old one but my 92 legacy AT is doing the exact same thing. I didn't see closure to what fixed the problem. Any input on the fix for this? Thanks for any input, Jeff
