  1. I  have an 81 GL wagon 4x4 and the heater has always sucked and now its starting to get cold here in montana. I have a new fan on order because mine screames when i turn it on. but would the culprit be a clogged heater core? I have replaced therm a few months ago, I dont mind doing a core but were do I get one? parts stores here cant order one. And were is it located, ive not done this on a subaru before and havent looked into it yet. also leaking oil from oil filter housing adapter? on front of motor, and was looking into a new oil pump and valve adjustment b4 winter sets in. If anyone has info related Id be greatly appreciated.

  2. tap the pin out and rotate the shaft 180 degrees to see if it lines up better. I just got done with 2 new front axles , there is a slight difference in thread count between each hemisphere that the pin holes divide.  I would double check that. might as well put new pins in while your down there if the originals are mushroomed in the slightest from hammering them. I dont know if it would damage bearings but I would think you would need to be near thor strength to break or bend the bearings

  3. Im in need of a 4 speed  trans for my 81 GL wagon dual range. If anyone has one or knows info on were to get one , 5 speed swap info or anything related to get my car up and goin please respond or send me a txt 406-531-5337. its my daily driver and i need to get it driving reliably asap.

  4. I have a huge problem. its finals week and my 81 gl wagon is stuck in 3rd gear. it would stick every once in a while in 4th for the past few weeks but now it wont come out of 3rd. the cable is still connected to the are on the bell housing. linkage pins seem there and cant see anything wrong with the linkage, other than it wont hardly budge.it still drives in 3rd, 2wd and 4 hi and lo work still. Is that a shift fork out of placement? is there anything I can do short of pulling the trans? also were can I get diagrams of the transmission internal R&R?

    thanks
