Thank you for checking that out. They do seem to both be available. I've read so much that most 2.5 non turbo short blocks are inter-changeable . Just want to be sure. I'll do some comparisons with re-built options. I just like the idea of brand new plus no core charge so I can keep my old one and re-build it as a spare.

I am looking to buy a new OEM 2.5 shortblock. Single overhead cam 2.5 liter non turbo, non egr motor. I am not sure on the original VIN number. Anyone know the difference between subaru part numbers 10103AB190 AND 10103AB390 ? They both seem to fit multiple cars in the 1999-2003 range but the 390 version is about $300 dollars cheaper. The engine is in a VW vanagon which is why I dont know for sure what it is. Thanks for any help.
