I used to be a VW guy but I am sick of the constant super expensive repairs needed, so I sold my 1984 Scirocco. And now I am a Subaru guy :D

  1. Sorry to bump the thread but, I ended up not getting the forester. It needed about $2000 in repairs, it's been a while so I do not remember what they were. Sticking with the Scoobys though.
  2. Thank you for welcoming me, I might as well replace the whole axle while I have the money.
  3. Hello, first post and possibly my first Subaru. I'm looking at a 2000 Forester L with 118k miles. I'm taking it to my mechanic, but I did check out the bottom of the car, it had no rust. I also checked out the engine, and one thing I noticed was the passengers side axle boot was ripped down the crease, how much will this cost to repair and is there anything else I should check out on the Forester that it is known for?
