Thanks for the help, if the rest of this post belongs in another place let me know but for now... The electrical started sometime ago when I turned the key to start it nothing would happen nothing, no clicks no anything. Turn the key a second time and it starts right up. This has started to happen more often and the other day I put the car in reverse to back into my parking spot and as a turned the wheel the car suddenly died, everything went off. Im not sure if it is the key or somewhere else in the column but i feel pretty certain that is somewhere in that area.

Hi everyone, I'm new here and own a 1993 legacy L It was given to me 3 years ago and is my first experience with subaru. I love it. I am happy to see how helpful everyone here is and look forward to keeping this car rolling for another 20 years! I will look for appropriate places for my specific problems my 2 main concerns are an electrical short in steering column and check engine code of purge valve solenoid.
