  1. 98 Forester trouble shifting into 2nd

    Im looking at buying a 98 forester with automatic transmission and 200,000 miles. The car is in great condition, it seems to drive fine except in 1st gear it seems to take a while to switch into second and jolts a lot when going into second. Im wondering if i would need to replace the transmission or if its a smaller problem than I think. Im being offered the car for 1350$ please let me know if you have had or know what this problem might be and if this is still a good deal for the vehicle.
